This week is a special week for us here at The Wine Shop! We will be celebrating our 7th anniversary on Thursday, December 12th. It is hard to believe that it has been seven years since we opened our doors in Old Koloa Town. The time has flown by and we have enjoyed getting to know our customers. We would like to thank each of you who opened our front door and walked into our little oasis of wine and goodies. Your support and enthusiasm for discovering and learning new wines inspires us each day to bring a great selection of products to you.
When we first had the idea of a wine shop in Koloa, we wanted to offer food, wine and gifts while creating a cellar type ambiance that provided a shopping experience like no other. Thank you for your positive response! We are so grateful for your patronage.
Enough about us, let’s talk wine. With the holidays upon us, champagne is always a great option for parties and celebrations. We were recently asked which are the best varietals to be served for different meals throughout the day. Many people may be surprised to know that champagne is the most versatile wine of all. Blended champagne drinks like mimosas and spritzers are commonly served at breakfast, but there is never a time when champagne doesn’t fit the menu.
Champagne and sparkling wine are now made by all of all the major wine producing countries of the world. Spain calls theirs Cava, Italy’s is Prosecco, and here in the United States it is simply called sparkling wine. Germany produces a sparkling Riesling and Australia a sparkling Shiraz. Let’s face it, people just like bubbles. So if you happen to visit The Wine Shop this Thursday, tell us happy 7th anniversary and receive 7% off your purchase. Hope to see you at The Wine Shop!
The Wine Shop is open 10am to 7pm Monday through Saturday, and by appointment on Sunday. For more information visit the shop located just across the street from the Koloa Post Office, call 808-742-7305 or visit us online at www.thewineshopkauai.com.
See you soon at The Wine Shop!
